Co-Founders
& Directors

With over 40 years of combined experience and a partnership dating back to 2012, Elzey and Hardaway founded Hatch & Flock to support grassroots organizations and communities working toward collective liberation.

Lisa Perez Elzey

Elzey (she/her) is a designer, educator, and researcher bridging theory and practice to advance ethical design and social impact. Co-developer of Racism Untaught and co-founder of Hatch & Flock. She creates frameworks, tools, and collaborative learning experiences that challenge oppressive systems and support communities in shaping equitable futures.

Dr. Terresa Hardaway

Dr. Hardaway (she/her) is dedicated to the liberation of Black and brown people through design. She’s the Owner of Blackbird Revolt and Black Garnet Books. She’s an Associate Professor of Graphic Design and the Director of Design Justice at the University of Minnesota. She serves on the advisory board of Black Liberation Lab and co-founded Hatch & Flock.

Assata Florell

Fiscal Sponsorship Coordinator

Florell (she/her) is responsible for managing and coordinating aspects of our fiscal sponsorship program and will continue to shape the bounds of our fiscal sponsorship program. She lives in North Minneapolis, has a professional background in both corporate and non-profit settings, loves to bake, and enjoys running with Cool Runnings and Run BLK.

Janelle Moses

Business Manager

Moses (she/her) manages the operational and financial aspects of Hatch & Flock. She leads the reconciliation of our accounts, ensures our relationship with external accountants is streamlined, collaborates with our team, and brainstorms to create efficient processes. She lives in Houston, Texas, and enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends, and she is passionate about positively impacting her local community.
